One is required to make the right decisions as to whom will they become allied with and who will be the enemy. The player has to cope in these hard times, engaging into fights and political intrigues that affect the world.

The story campaign focuses on the events from the second half of the 9th century, when the sons of a Nordic leader Ragnar Lodbrok organized non-coordinated plundering expeditions to the kingdoms of the eastern Britain (those belonged to Angles and Saxons) over several years.
